Johnson, Killen & Seiler welcomes new attorneys

DULUTH, Minn.—Amanda Mangan and Susan Waldie have joined Johnson, Killen & Seiler, the oldest and one of the most respected law firms in northern Minnesota.

Mangan is a 2016 graduate of Mitchell Hamline Law School in St. Paul. The Duluth native earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering in 2011 from the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus. She also has worked on Minnesota’s Iron Range for Habitat for Humanity.

“The law is a problem-solving field,” Mangan said. “In engineering, I learned how to solve problems with technology and numbers. At Habitat, I did a lot of work with people. The law combines those two parts of my background as I work now to solve problems for my clients.”

Waldie earned her law degree in 2016 from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She completed her bachelor’s degree in economics in 2011 at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She has experience working at an environmental law firm in West Virginia, her home state.

“As an attorney, you’re helping people,” she said. “You help them realize dreams. You help them form businesses. You help them confront difficult issues in their lives. Being an attorney allows me to help people on a very personal level when they need it most.”

Mangan and Waldie join the firm as associates and are licensed to practice in Minnesota. Johnson, Killen & Seiler specializes in the following areas of law: business, employment and labor, estates and trusts, family issues, health care, litigation and maritime and admiralty.

Johnson, Killen & Seiler has been finding solutions for clients since 1888. The firm provides a wide range of services for individuals, businesses and employers. It has been in business longer than any other law firm in northern Minnesota and regularly has been named among one of the top law firms in the United States, as determined by Martindale-Hubbell, the legal industry’s most respected information service.
