JKS ranked tops in nation for 2014

The law firm of Johnson, Killen & Seiler has been named one of the top law firms in the nation by Martindale-Hubbell, the legal industry’s most respected information service.

Among more than 250,000 firms nationwide rated by Martindale-Hubbell, only 2,442, or less than 1 percent, were selected as 2014 U.S. Top Ranked Law Firms™. The honor requires that at least one-third of a firm’s attorneys receive AV® Preeminent™ ratings by their industry peers. An AV® Preeminent™ rating means an attorney’s peers ranked him or her at the top of his or her practice area.

Nine of the 17 Johnson Killen & Seiler attorneys received AV® Preeminent™ ratings. The firm has more attorneys receiving this honor than any other firm in the Twin Ports. The ratings measure how attorneys are judged by their peers in the categories of legal knowledge, analytical capability, judgment, communication and legal experience. All nine of the Johnson, Killen & Seiler attorneys were rated 5 on a scale of 1 to 5.

“It’s an honor to see that other attorneys recognize the value of the work we do for our clients,” said Joseph J. Roby Jr., chairman of Johnson, Killen & Seiler and one of the attorneys recognized. “This is an important way that the legal profession measures the quality of services provided to clients. It’s humbling and gratifying to see that our peer attorneys view our work so positively.”
